About

Three decades of quiet work.

A boutique advisory practice, built around a small number of families and the things they have spent a lifetime building.

A practice, not a product shelf

Wealth Doctor provides customised investment advice across global real estate, insurance services, financial asset management and loans. Our spectrum of services extends further to the critical areas of taxation and investment litigation.

Holding all four disciplines under one roof is the point of the firm. A property decision changes what cover is needed. A loan changes what the portfolio can safely hold. Advised separately, those decisions quietly work against one another. Advised together, they do not.

We are deliberately small. Our brief is to meet the growth objectives of our clients while keeping the safety of their capital firmly in view, and we would rather give advice a client did not expect than advice they simply wanted to hear.

A deliberately selected group

We take on a limited number of relationships, because the work only holds up when there is time to do it properly.

  • Families of substantial means

Households with assets across several classes, who need one view of the whole rather than four separate opinions.

  • Non-Resident Indians

Families living abroad with property, policies and portfolios in India, and the repatriation, taxation and time-zone questions that come with them.

  • Names from the arts and sport

Careers that earn unevenly and often end early. The planning has to account for both, and it has to stay private.

  • Business owners

Where personal and business capital are entangled, and decisions on one side have consequences on the other.

Long enough to have seen it go wrong

Three decades is not a long time in a marketing line. It is a long time in markets. It covers the dot-com bust, the global financial crisis, demonetisation, the introduction of GST and RERA, a pandemic, and several complete property cycles in Indian cities.

What that buys a client is not a prediction. It is the memory of what happened last time a market looked like this, and the willingness to say so plainly when the answer is inconvenient.

A note from our founder

I started this practice because the advice available to Indian families was being sold to them, not given to them. A policy here, a flat there, a fund recommended by whoever called that week. Nobody was looking at the whole of it.

Our rule has not changed since: understand the family first, then the money. If a recommendation does not serve the person in front of us, it does not get made, whatever it happens to pay.

Five steps, in order, every time

There are no fees or obligations attached to a first meeting. We would rather find out early that we are not the right practice for you.

  1. Discover

We listen, and gain a clear picture of where you would like to go, what you would like to do, and where you would like to be in the years to come.

  2. Align

We establish what success actually means for this investment, and align your goals and measures with the solutions capable of reaching them.

  3. Design

We work out a suitable plan, sharing our investment philosophy, discussing asset allocation and rebalancing, and defining your risk tolerance and time horizon.

  4. Implement

We execute the plan, reading current market conditions so that the strategy is put to work at the right moment rather than merely on schedule.

  5. Manage

We review statements and performance together, monitoring progress and adjusting as your circumstances and the market both move.
